Gigs are what we do best.
We are delighted with our line up of great live music and entertainment.
Nearly all gigs are ticketed, the exception is when it’s a Bank Holiday, Saturday or our Beer Festival.
Please do book tickets in advance. We recommend doing this as many of our gigs sell out.
If you are a carer, please access a ‘CARER’ ticket on the event ticket page. Most gigs will have three carer tickets available. If you can’t see it on offer they may have gone. You can contact us
If you want a ‘CONCESSION” ticket then have one. Most gigs have ‘concession’ tickets. You don’t have to show anything, or prove anything to access them. Student /Skint*/Teacher/Blue lightworker/ Old/Young.

August Bank Holiday Beer Festival
The Albert now hold two Beer, Cider and Music Festivals each year across Bank Holiday Weekends, and this is their big August one following their big May one. What can you expect? Well the pub is not just a pub but a legendary, expertly programmed live music venue so expect unique performances from local and further afield artists across the five days including a Celtic Session and Live Jukebox on Friday, a psychedelic carnival of sound from Blind Yeo plus DJ set from Los Domingos (with special guests) on Sunday, and take a dive into the heart of the vast Mongolian steppes with Nasanjargal Ganbold and Johanni Curtet on Monday. And we mustn’t forget…BEER. A wide selection of cask beer will be available on a popup bar in the covered courtyard and all the usual suspects inside with non drinkers all very well catered for too. The beer festival where EVERYONE is welcome…

Guitarist Neil Smith leads this instrumental trio featuring truly exceptional drummer Matthew Jones & multitalented bassist Alex Heane. Jon Wilks
Jon is a stand-out folk guitarist and sublime songwriter. His recent music career includes four solo albums and one EP. His last album won TheGuardian Folk Album of the month, Jon was recently Mark Radcliffe’s session guest on the BBC Radio 2 Folk Show and appeared in worldwide magazine The Guitarist with a double page spread.


The Burway
Saturday night entertainment tonight from local collective. Playing vaguely folk-adjacent original compositions with four part harmonies, The Burway blend a mix of acoustic instruments alongside electronic and synth elements.


Ray Cooper
Ray Cooper is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He played cello, bass and sang backing vocals with Oysterband for 23 years before leaving to go solo in 2013. Since then he has recorded five solo albums and made over 40 tours in Europe, the UK and Canada.
Ray has lived in Sweden since 2000 where he records in his own studio in a log cabin close to the forest.
Returning to the Prince Albert, Ray will showcase songs and tunes from his latest album, ‘Even For A Shadow’ as well as favourites from his previous four solo albums.
